Barefoot is really good too. They've won a ton of Gold Medals and they are super cheap (under $10).
David's favorite is Kendall Jackson Vintage Merlot, which is closer to $20 and has a really bold flavor. We usually get that on special occasions.
We also tried Sebeka Shiraz. It's an Australian wine that I remember us liking a lot too.
I forget the name of the kind Filipi's serves, but we love that one too, and it's at Target for under $10.
I agree the KJ is good. I have enjoyed Cline Old Vine Zin '07. Good fruit flavor with an easy finish. Costco sells it here for $11.99
I also love the Markham Merlot '05. This one is also at Costco for $15.99. This is a great Napa Merlot. Rich fruit flavor, with a nice vanilla oak finish. One of my new top picks.
You are so lucky to have access to a Costco... I'll see if our Wal Mart has any of the ones you mentioned. Next time we are in Cali, we'll have to go wine tasting, I've never been!
